P.K. Subban is putting on his skates for animated action-adventure series “Screech Owls”. The ex-NHL All-Star will executive-produce and star in the show, which is set to launch in the fall of 2027 on CBC. The NHL has distribution rights in the US. Based on Roy MacGregor’s book series of the same name, “Screech Owls” follows a team of young hockey players who are swept into a world of hidden clues, high-tech villains, and impossible missions.

Netflix released a trailer for an upcoming crime thriller called “Heartland”. Jessica Chastain plays a reclusive country star who returns to Nashville to find her missing niece who’s a rising star, played by Carter Faith. It also stars Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland. Carter recorded original music, and Jessica does her own singing. The soundtrack also includes Margo Price, Carly Pearce, and Channing Wilson. It premieres November 13.
Drake will not submit his three recent solo albums — “Iceman”, “Habibti” and “Maid of Honour” — for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards. The projects were his first solo releases following his high-profile 2024 rap feud with Kendrick Lamar. Iceman notably broke Drake’s own record for the longest run atop Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, surpassing “Take Care”’s 12-week streak.
Jessica Biel will play Hugh Hefner’s wife in Searchlight Pictures’ upcoming film “Playmates”. She joins previously announced Lily-Rose Depp, Bill Pullman, and Indiana Elle. The character is fictional, despite Hefner’s real-life marriages.
