Universal Pictures has postponed the release date of the “Murder, She Wrote” movie starring Jamie Lee Curtis, moving it from December 22, 2027, to February 4, 2028. The original December date coincided with several blockbuster sequels, including Disney’s “Avengers: Secret Wars”, Warner Bros.’ “The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum” and Lionsgate’s “The Housemaid’s Secret”. “Murder, She Wrote” is a reboot of the iconic CBS crime drama that aired from 1984 to 1996.
Fox has renewed “Fear Factor: House of Fear” for a second season. Johnny Knoxville will return as host. The reboot is a fresh interpretation of the original 2000s series. The show’s first season consisted of 10 episodes.
Helena Bonham Carter has checked out of “The White Lotus.” Nine days after production kicked off in France for Season 4 of the HBO hit, she has exited the cast. An HBO spokesperson said, “it had become apparent that the character which Mike White created for Helena Bonham Carter did not align, once on set.” As a result, the role has “been rethought, is being rewritten and will be recast in the coming weeks.”
“Michael” is estimated to have broken the box office record for a musical biopic in its opening weekend. Lionsgate said the Michael Jackson biopic was projected to take in $97 million domestically. The film will still easily surpass “Straight Outta Compton” for the highest-grossing opening weekend for a musical biopic. It was also projected to open at about $200 million worldwide.
