Eddie Murphy is heading back to the small screen for his first scripted series, a drama from “Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner, that is in the works at Peacock. Eddie is coming off the back of Netflix documentary “Being Eddie”, that came out last year. His next film is “Shrek 5”, set for release next year. Details of the new series have not been disclosed.
Paramount Pictures has officially cast Bradley Cooper as field commander Duke in its upcoming “G.I. Joe” film reboot. The project is set to be directed by Danny McBride, who also co-wrote the screenplay, to deliver a fresh take on the iconic Hasbro toy line. No release date for the “G.I. Joe” reboot has been announced.
Stray Kids have joined BTS in their boycott of the Grammy Awards following the announcement that the Recording Academy will introduce a new Best Asian Pop Music Performance category next year. JYP Entertainment, which represents Stray Kids, told Korean media, “Stray Kids did not submit their music for consideration for the Grammys.”
Rolling Stones have released a video for their “Foreign Tongues” song ‘Mr. Charm’, and it features Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgård, who starred as tech mogul ‘Lukas Matsson’ in HBO’s “Succession”. Backstreet’s back in Canada. Backstreet Boys have announced 6 nights at Toronto’s Rogers Centre on February 12, 13, 14, 19, 20 and 21 of 2027. The shows are dubbed “Into the Millennium – Homecoming: Live in Canada”, and they will be the band’s only North American shows of 2027, aside from their Las Vegas shows at the Sphere that wrap up on January 2.
Warner Bros. and DC Studios have temporarily paused production on “The Batman Part II” while director Matt Reeves handles a personal family matter. “Matt has the full support of DC Studios and we look forward to continuing the journey soon,” a studio representative confirmed. The sequel, starring Robert Pattinson as Batman, has already faced multiple delays, shifting from October 2026 to October 2027, then again to February 2028.

Queen guitarist Brian May says the iconic rock band will no longer tour. In an interview with The Times, the 79-year-old said he made the decision 18 months ago after a close family friend died during a US tour. He was told he couldn’t leave the tour, even briefly. “I made a decision 18 months ago that I didn’t want to tour again. I love to play, I love to travel, but the trade-off is sacrificing your freedom.”
Paramount+ has renewed “Tulsa King” for a fifth season, moving production to New York City. The shift brings Sylvester Stallone’s character, Dwight “The General” Manfredi, back to his roots. Scarlet Rose Stallone is upped to series regular. Season four premieres October 16.
MGM+ will debut “New Wave”, a four-part docuseries exploring the history of the influential rock movement, starting November 23. The series features interviews with iconic artists including Billy Idol, John Taylor of Duran Duran, Stewart Copeland of The Police, and Johnny Marr of The Smiths. New episodes drop weekly on Mondays.
Robert Kelker-Kelly, the actor who is best known for playing Bo Brady on “Days of Our Lives”, died October 3 in Missouri at age 62. No cause of death has been revealed. The actor also appeared in over 400 episodes of “Another World” and 42 episodes of “General Hospital”. He won two Soap Opera Digest Awards, including Outstanding Lead Actor in 1994.
