Jimi Hendrix is finally getting a street named after him in New York. West 8th Street in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village, where Hendrix’s legendary Electric Lady Studios is located, was to be co-named Jimi Hendrix Way in February, but a snow storm forced postponement. The street will now get its new name on June 10, with the ceremony taking place a block from the studio.
Tony Hinchcliffe is returning to Netflix with a new stand-up special, weeks after he was heavily criticized for his controversial and racially charged jokes on “The Roast of Kevin Hart”. The streamer announced the new stand-up special, “Tony Hinchcliffe: Man of the People” is set to premiere on June 9. Netflix is promoting the project by boasting that Tony “tears into every group imaginable.”

Shania Twain will produce a biopic about her life called “Shania”. It’s still pretty early on, so there aren’t many details yet. It’ll be written and directed by Leah McKendrick for Sony Pictures. She recently directed the upcoming Netflix rom-com “Voicemails for Isabelle”.
Netflix has paused pre-production on “Hannibal”, starring Denzel Washington, due to budget concerns. The film, directed by Antoine Fuqua, will focus on Hannibal’s battles against Rome during the Second Punic War.
HBO says the final season of “Euphoria” has reached 25 million viewers worldwide, a 17% rise from season two’s 21.5 million. The May 31 series finale attracted 8.7 million U.S. viewers across platforms in its first three days, slightly higher than the season premiere’s 8.5 million. The third episode remains the season’s most watched, with 8.9 million viewers.
Ellen Pompeo will star in and produce the Hulu pilot “Chicks”. The dramedy follows Chickie, played by Ellen, and her estranged half-sister Doreen as they reconnect after their father’s death. The sisters inherit a history of small-time crime and begin running bold scams that strengthen their uneasy bond.
