Fifth Harmony is back! The girl group drew attention online on Sunday when they posted #FifthHarmonyFollowSpree to their X account for the first time since 2018. At the Jonas Brothers show in Dallas, Fifth Harmony made a surprise appearance to perform their hit song “Work from Home” and “Worth It.”
Guillermo del Toro’s lifelong passion project “Frankenstein” jolted to life where it received a splashy world premiere at the Venice Film Festival. As the credits rolled, the audience responded with a 14-minute standing ovation that brought the filmmaker and star Jacob Elordi to tears. The adaptation will receive a limited theatrical release on October 17 and will premiere on Netflix on November 7.
A half a century later, Steven Spielberg’s “Jaws” still has plenty of bite as the summer movie season ends. The original summer blockbuster, celebrating its 50th anniversary, opened in second place at the 4-day Labor Day box office, grossing about $10 million. That puts it behind Zach Cregger’s sleeper hit “Weapons”, which remained in first place with an estimated long weekend haul of $12.4 million.

Goo Goo Dolls had to cancel their Friday show in Bend OR, for an unusual reason. An IG post reads, “Due to health concerns based on the air quality produced by the current wildfires, the Goo Goo Dolls show at Hayden Home Amphitheater…has been cancelled.” The concert will not be rescheduled.
Cyndi Lauper performed the last show of her farewell tour Saturday at the Hollywood Bowl, and was joined onstage by guests including Joni Mitchell, Cher, SZA, and John Legend. Joni, in just her second live appearance of 2025, joined Cyndi for a rendition of ‘Carey’. Cher had the honor of joining Cyndi for the final song, ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’, of course.
Seattle’s Museum of Pop Culture will close its Nirvana exhibit on Sunday after a 14-year run. The museum posted, “Come as you are—and come soon!” It’ll host an all-day “farewell celebration” on Saturday, when fans can participate in a zine workshop, get a t-shirt printed, and enjoy guided tours and performances, as well as a panel discussion.
Kelsea Ballerini and Cam will both make their “Austin City” Limits debut when the PBS series returns this fall. Season 51 debuts October 4 with FINNEAS. The episode featuring Kelsea and Cam airs November 15.

Apple is expected to release a super-slim iPhone, potentially sacrificing battery life and camera quality for a sleeker design. Some speculate that Apple may retire the larger iPhone Plus model
Swifties are ready! Taylor Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl” is already breaking Spotify records weeks ahead of its release. Over the weekend, it became the most pre-saved album Countdown Page in Spotify history. The previous record was Taylor’s for “The Tortured Poets Department” in 2024.
Stray Kids’ “KARMA” debuts atop the Billboard 200 chart, earning the K-pop group the seventh No. 1 of their career. The release notched 313,000 equivalent album units over the past week, with traditional album sales making up 296,000 of that figure, marking career highs in both totals for the group.
Lady Gaga is set to make her first MTV VMAs performance in five years at the 2025 awards show on September 7, where she leads all nominees with 12 total nods, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for “Mayhem”. MTV made the announcement on Instagram over the weekend, writing “There will be magic in the air at the 2025 #VMAs because @LADYGAGA IS PERFORMING! 🪄 You won’t want to miss her return,” while adding in the comments, “let mayhem commence!!!”
Disney has confirmed a new chapter in the “Ice Age” franchise will arrive in theaters on February 5, 2027. The film, titled “Ice Age: Boiling Point”, was announced Saturday during the Destination D23 event and later shared on the studio’s social media. Returning voice actors include Ray Romano, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, and Queen Latifah.
Chloë Grace Moretz married model Kate Harrison over Labor Day weekend after 7 years of dating. Vogue shared photos of the brides’ final fittings in Paris. The celebration included fishing, horseback riding, poker, and line dancing. The couple, first linked in 2018, announced their engagement in late 2023.
Halsey placed the winning bid of $585,000 for a portrait of herself by filmmaker and artist Julian Schnabel at the AmfAR Venezia charity auction. Schnabel, honored earlier in the evening, agreed to create two portraits after a tense bidding war, raising over $1 million for HIV and AIDS research. Halsey, a collector of Schnabel’s work, called him her favorite living artist.
